The Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI) has revised the timetable for certain CA Final and CA Intermediate examinations in September 2025, specifically for centres in Punjab and Jammu. 

This decision was taken in light of severe rainfall and flooding in these regions. Here’s a comprehensive look at the changes and what they mean for students preparing for one of the toughest professional exams in India.

What Has Changed?

• CA Final (Group I), Paper 1 – Financial Reporting
  
  • Old Date: 3 September 2025
    
  • New Date: 24 September 2025
    
• CA Intermediate (Group I), Paper 1 – Advanced Accounting
  
  • Old Date: 4 September 2025
    
  • New Date: 25 September 2025
    

The changes only apply to candidates appearing in Punjab and Jammu examination centres, where infrastructure and accessibility have been hit by heavy rains.

Foundation Exam Schedule Stays the Same

While the above changes affect CA Final and Intermediate candidates, CA Foundation exams remain unchanged. 

The Foundation papers are scheduled for 16, 18, 20, and 22 September 2025 across India and overseas centres including Abu Dhabi, Dubai, Doha, Kuwait, Muscat, Bahrain, Riyadh, Thimphu, and Kathmandu.

Timings will remain consistent with 2:00 pm IST, adjusted for local times abroad (e.g. 12:30 pm in Dubai and Muscat, 11:30 am in Riyadh, Bahrain, and Doha).

What Students Must Note

• Admit Cards Stay Valid – There is no need to download or reissue admit cards. The same admit card will work on the new exam dates.
  
• Same Centres, Same Time – Exams will still take place at the originally allotted centres, and timings remain 2:00 pm to 5:00 pm IST.
  
• No Change Even on Holidays – If a newly revised date coincides with a public or local holiday, the exam will still be conducted.
  
• Extra Preparation Time – With the postponement, students in affected regions gain a valuable buffer of extra days to revise and strengthen weak areas.
